 I am experiencing technical difficulties with my machine - what should I do?

After checking and changing the batteries if necessary gently press the 'RESET' button on the back of the unit.

My LCD screen is broken - can it be repaired?

Broken screens and 'ink spots' are not covered under the manufacturers warranty.

My LCD screen is malfunctioning - only part of the pixels are functioning, what can I do?

Providing that the machine is still under warranty then it can be replaced, depending on the circumstances. Please return the machine to our Service Department together with all the relevant paperwork and proof of purchase. We will assess the unit and advise you accordingly.

What should I do if my LCD screen is fading?

First try adjusting the contrast, if the screen is still fading then this can be symptomatic of low power supply. try replacing the batteries, resetting if necessary and readjusting the contrast. You will find the battery requirements and details in your instruction manual.

How long does my warranty last?

All Franklin products are covered by a 2 year warranty. Please see your User Guide for conditions. Please ensure you retain your receipt so if your product does develop a fault you can return it to us within the warranty period.

Where can I purchase batteries?

Batteries can be obtained for all good High Street retailers. Battery requirements are detailed in your instruction manual.

Changing batteries in 108 products

Unfortunately there is a missprint in the user guide for the replacement of batteries in the 108 products. It advises you to undo the screws at the back of the product but you do not need to do this. On the back of the product you will see a small square hatch with a slide lever beneath it. Slide the lever down and the hatch should open - you may need to turn it over and give it a tap or gently help prize it open the first time you change the battery. After replacing the battery, replace the battery hatch and slide the lever back up to lock into place.

I can't remember my password and need to change it, what is the best way to do this?

Passwords may be cleared by removing the batteries for 24 hours or by pressing the reset button. However, using this emergency procedure will result in all stored information to be lost ie. telephone numbers, addresses etc.

I have lost my instruction manual, how do I obtain a replacement?
